Day 21 - Another Red Barn

My husband and I took William to piano lessons today. On our way, I saw this old barn which I had never paid attention to before. We came home and watched the inauguration. When it was over, I told everyone I had to go out and take the picture of the day. I stopped right on the street and took this picture with my 50 mm lens.

  2. Thank you, Pam. That's actually a great idea! We don't live far at all. Just have to cross the street....

    1. Erin,

Though I have gotten some nice pictures, I am still not loving the 50 mm. There is still more getting used to it. One, is that I haven't been able to get great face pictures. Those with a nice blurry background and really sharp faces. I have taken so many of my kids and only a few came out OK and I still don't know why. Most of those pictures have been taken in low light so that might be the problem.

The other is that I am the one who have to move. I can't adjust the distance with the lens. For that I just need practice. I just have to use it all the time to remember.

    2. I hear ya! I've definitely noticed a difference in the 50mm with low lighting. Even if the metering is perfect, the ISO is high, etc. - it just hates low lighting! Hopefully by the end of this project, you and I are 50mm experts! :)

And I agree about the zoom. That's hard to get used to!

  4. That's a great barn and I love the way you used the fence in the foreground.

    1. Thank you! It's interesting that this building is like a shed next to a house and I have driven by so many times and didn't think much of it as a barn. But, I do like the fence and the house and that's how I found the barn:)
