Day 177 - A New Lens

Today was the last day with the macro lens I rented last week. This flower was the last photo I took this morning with it. When I returned the macro lens I picked up the 70-200 mm lens. OMGosh is that lens heavy or what? I headed to the waterfall with the kids, the new lens and the tripod. The pictures looked good in the camera, but not so good in the computer. I guess I have a lot of getting used to...

Day 176 - A Bird

I have to admit. I don't know much about birds and I don't know the name of this particular one. (I'm sure is an easy one). But, today I was really surprised to see this bird perched on a branch for the longest time without moving. The kids and I got really closed to it and it didn't move or fly away.

Day 171 - Fungi

Recently I found out there is a local business that rent lenses. I decided to rent a macro lens and have been "playing" with it: A spider yesterday, fungi today.  I realized macro photography is not as easy as I thought. It's a bit challenging getting the images in focus.  I hope by the end of the rental period I will be somewhat good at it. By the way rentals are usually for three days, but it happens I will get to keep this macro lens for a whole week because the business owners are on vacation. But, I'm really not sure I want to be doing macro for a whole week :) ...
Also since it is officially summer I decided to change the header of the blog to match the season...
So happy for the hot kind of weather....

Day 167 - Lightroom

We had a great Father's Day. We went to our friends' house at the beach. I took many pictures today, but I made sure I took them all only in raw, so I can use only Lightroom to edit them. I want to use Lr on a regular basis so it becomes my main editing program.  But, I am still getting use to it. This is my first official picture edited with LR. I still used picassa for the frame.

Day 166 - Today

Today was a gorgeous day. After so much rain this week, the sun finally came out and it wasn't  too hot or too cold, or too humid...It was just perfect!.....But, unfortunately this is where I spent most of my day working:
Bummer in the summer!!!!
During my break when the place was empty I took this very quick self portrait....
After work, I discovered this pretty place not far from home. I took some pictures. But, they didn't come out as good as I wanted to. So, I might go back there again some other day....

Day 165 - A Girl's Profile

We were at the baseball game tonight. I took a picture of this pretty girl. She didn't feel comfortable looking directly at the camera.

My kids didn't mind.....

Day 162 - With William

William saw my camera on the tripod and pretended to be a photographer. He asked me to set the timer for him. He loved running to sit on my lap when he pressed the shutter button.

Day 161 - Fun Day

 Limbo was William favorite station

I volunteered today at William's school. All Kindergarten classes were outside playing all day. I helped out at the H2O station. I used Instagram to take these pictures.
