Day 177 - A New Lens

Today was the last day with the macro lens I rented last week. This flower was the last photo I took this morning with it. When I returned the macro lens I picked up the 70-200 mm lens. OMGosh is that lens heavy or what? I headed to the waterfall with the kids, the new lens and the tripod. The pictures looked good in the camera, but not so good in the computer. I guess I have a lot of getting used to...

  1. I like the pictures Olga, the picture of you and the kids is great. And Yes I have the Nikon 70-200 and it is super heavy,. I weighed it and my camera on my kitchen scale and the combination of the two was close to 12 pounds!

  2. I think the waterfall shots look good too. It would be nice to have a local place to rent from. Where I live my options are an hour drive to place that has limited selection and high prices or rent from on online place that ships the lens to you.

    1. Thank you, Matt. I agree. Just for the shipping is $15.00. I only need to drive about 15-20 min to get there. The people who own the business run it from their home and use a Park and Ride parking lot to deliver and pick up the lenses. The business name is Try and Buy. I want try a wide angle lens next.....

  3. These are all great Olga! Yes, I recently brought home the 70-200mm and it is a beast but I find the more I use the less I notice the weight! I don't think my muscles are stronger but I think my fear of it has lessened ... I know it's mine and I'm not afraid to lug it around! LOL!
